VARD mainly works with and for the landless, destitute and vulnerable people in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamgonj and Habiganj districts in Sylhet Division - the area are mostly hilly and low-lying marshy land where most of the people live in below poverty line, the employment and earning opportunities are very limited, as a result major portion of the able manpower remains unemployed.

VARD also implements development activities in Comilla, Feni and Noakhali district under Chittagong division. VARD's working area is shown in the figure
